Michael E. Porter

Bishop William Lawrence University Professor


Dr. Porter is an economist, researcher, author, advisor, speaker and teacher. Throughout his career at Harvard Business School, he has brought economic theory and strategy concepts to bear on many of the most challenging problems facing corporations, economies and societies, including market competition and company strategy, economic development, the environment, and health care. His extensive research is widely recognized by governments, corporations, NGOs, and academic circles around the globe. His research has received numerous awards, and he is the most cited scholar today in economics and business. While Dr. Porter is, at the core, a scholar, his work has also achieved remarkable acceptance by practitioners across multiple fields.

Thierry Porté

Mr. Porté is a Managing Director at J.C. Flowers & Co. Prior to joining the firm in 2009, Mr. Porté was with Shinsei Bank, Limited for five years, where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer and in various other executive roles. Before joining Shinsei’s Management team, Mr. Porté spent 22 years at Morgan Stanley & Co., where he served in various capacities in capital markets, corporate finance, and management in New York, London and Tokyo, ultimately becoming a Managing Director and the President, Representative Director, and Branch Manager of Morgan Stanley Japan.

Mr. Porté serves as Executive Chairman of NPG Wealth Management, Chairman of the board of directors of Equita S.I.M., Chairman of the board of Fidea NV, sits on the board of Compagnie Européenne De Prévoyance and attends all board meetings of SICOM Limited. Mr. Porté received an Artium Baccalaureus magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa in Economics from Harvard College and is a Baker Scholar graduate of the Harvard Business School.

Noah Gottdiener

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Duff & Phelps


Mr. Gottdiener has been the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Duff & Phelps Corporation since 2004. Mr. Gottdiener has more than 20 years of investment banking origination, execution, and management experience. Previously, he served as the President at Duff & Phelps Corp. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Duff & Phelps, LLC and D&P Acquisitions from March 2004 to August 2007. He founded Stone Ridge Partners LLC in January 2001 and served as the Managing Partner since its inception. He served as a Partner at Thomas Weisel Partners and Furman Selz LLC. He served as the Managing Director of Lehman Brothers. Mr. Gottdiener served as a Head of the eCommerce & Consumer Group at Thomas Weisel Partners, from July 1999 to December 2000. He served as a Head of the Retailing and Consumer Investment banking group of Furman Selz LLC, from April 1994 to March 1999. He has been a Director of Duff & Phelps Corporation since 2004. He serves as a Member of Financial Services Advisory Board at Bridge Growth Partners, LLC. He sits on the Advisory Board of the National Outdoor Leadership School and is a Member of the Advisory Council of the Mathematics Department of Princeton University. He serves on the Board of Directors at the Manhattan Theatre Club. Mr. Gottdiener received an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts. from Princeton University.

Isabelle Bajeux-Besnainou

Dean and Professor of Finance at McGill University


Dr. Bajeux-Besnainou joined McGill’s Desautels Faculty of Management as Dean and Professor of Finance in September 2015. Prior to joining Desautels, Dr. Bajeux-Besnainou served as Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs at the George Washington University School of Business since April 2012, and chaired the Finance Department during the 2011-12 academic year. She taught at George Washington University since 1994, at Université de Montréal in the fall of 1993, and at École Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales (ESSEC) de Paris from 1989 to 1993.

Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Peak Capital Holdings


Mr. King has been engaged in investing in and developing wellness, healthcare, and consumer products related businesses in North America and Asia. He is a co-founder and partner of Shanghai based Peak China Advisors, which advises PRC and international consumer related companies investing in Greater China and North America. Mr. King is a director of Shanghai First Venture, an investment firm affiliated with Bright Foods Group, a leading food and beverage conglomerate in China. Currently Mr. King is also serving on the boards of Mouth, a marketer and distributor of specialty food and beverage brands; Genuine Health, a Toronto based natural supplements company; and Family Health Nutrition, which partners with North American wellness brands expanding into Asia.
